What if you had an assistant who knew your entire body of work, memorized it, and could answer any questions you have about your own writing/podcast/videography?
What if the assistant was also incredibly intelligent and could actually create new ideas based on your existing work?
Say, you could ask “Hey Roger, can you create 5 new article ideas based on the articles on “software testing” that I have already written?”...and then Roger would scan through all your articles on software testing and give you 5 new topics that reflect your niche-based expertise perfectly?
What if the assistant could also give you expert feedback on your work, identify gaps (based on similar pieces on the internet), and generally help you become a far better writer/content creator?
Your first reaction is “Sure, it’d be great. It would also be great if I got a million-dollar trust fund for just being born into a certain family.”
We can’t help you with the latter, but the former can exist. Say hello to Authory’s AI assistant.

What is Authory and why does its AI assistant matter?
Authory is a dedicated portfolio-building platform, which allows users to create a professional work portfolio in literally a few minutes. It doesn’t just give you the space to copy-paste links and assemble a digital portfolio. It literally does over half the work: finding all bylined content you’ve ever published, importing it automatically, saving it permanently (again, automatically), and enabling you to organize your pieces into different collections.
Here’s how it works: Authory will AUTOMATICALLY import a copy of every single one of your bylined pieces from every site you’ve published on, into its own database.
These sites are called "sources." You add as many sources as you want, and every single bylined piece from every single source will be imported automatically.
You don't have to track down links to your published work (especially older pieces). As long as you remember the URL of the site where your work exists, Authory will collate all your content for you in one dashboard.
Authory can import content from behind most soft paywalls (as long as it is a bylined piece) and some hard paywalls. However, it cannot be used to import copies of articles, podcasts, and videos you haven’t created or featured in.
There isn’t any need to manually upload/copy-paste your content. That said, if you happen to have any non-bylined content, you can always do so manually in those cases.
So, you get an automatically collated digital repository of all your published work within a few hours, requiring the effort of a few minutes.
Not only does this help with creating excellent portfolios, these repositories are also the foundation of Authory’s AI assistant.
An AI assistant that knows your work better than you do
Once you’ve imported all your work into Authory’s database, and you’ve chosen to start using its AI assistant, you can ask any question about your content.
For example, let’s say I’ve written a certain number of articles about gaming, but I can’t remember what they are. It has been a few years of writing, and I really don’t feel like looking through hundreds of articles to find the ones I want.
So all I do is ask “Have I written any articles about gaming?”
As you can see, not only do you get the article titles, but you also get a short summary of what they are about. But I’m not done with questions yet.
Next up, “Are there any major gaps in my articles about gaming?”
You get the idea. It’s like using ChatGPT, but in this case, ChatGPT answers questions only on your body of work. And I don’t have to tell you…the possibilities are endless. You can literally ask ANY question, as long as it is remotely relevant to your body of published work (that has been imported into Authory).
How the AI Assistant works
Authory’s AI Assistant uses ChatGPT 3.5. The AI model has been heavily fine-tuned by our in-house devs so that it “knows” that it can access all your content to generate accurate answers.
With regard to confidentiality, some of your content might be sent to OpenAI for processing, depending on the nature of your questions. However, your data will NEVER be used to train the OpenAI model. Your information (be it your content or your questions) will NOT be used by OpenAI for any purpose other than to answer your immediate question.
Once you get your answers, OpenAI will delete all your data.
If you’re still worried and want validation of the above claims, have a look at OpenAI’s Enterprise Privacy policy.
What the AI Assistant can do for you
Research & identify ideas within your body of work
When you’ve been writing or creating any content over a certain number of years, you actually have a massive bed of researched content you can already draw from. Yes, your own work is research-worthy, even for you.
Authority’s AI assistant actually recognizes this, and allows you to do said research.
Let’s say you’re thinking of new topics for your next set of articles for a client in software testing. Our go-to move is to do our research via Google.
But doing so means that you’re getting the same results as everyone else in your domain. Additionally, depending on your Googling skills, you probably won’t get ideas with too much nuance, or relevance to your niche. For example, if you’re looking for “new developments in astrophysics” on Google, you’ll probably end up with fairly straightforward generic ideas.
However, what if you used the AI assistant to look for ideas WITHIN your own content body? Let’s say you’ve been writing about astrophysics for 5 years, and you ask “What are topics on astrophysics that I have not yet written about?”
And voila! You now have a curated list of ideas taken from what you haven’t covered in your niche. You’re not writing about topics everyone else is writing…you’re addressing gaps in the body of knowledge that you yourself have generated over all these years.
So, not only does this fit into your niche, it also reflects your expertise more closely.
Solicit Feedback
Yes, I’m sure you get enough feedback from your clients and editors. But when you get it from an assistant based on ChatGPT, you know that it’s covering a much larger perspective.
For example, you can ask “Are there inconsistencies in my articles about generative AI?” and get an almost immediate answer. What’s more, the Assistant will look through ALL your articles, which your human editor cannot, at least not in a couple of minutes.
The ideal scenario is one in which you’re looking at the AI’s answers, combining them with your own insight & analysis, writing/creating content, and getting feedback from your human editor.
This particular feature is especially popular with some of our customers (who have very kindly agreed to help Authory test it). To quote one of them:
“This is so cool! I’d love to use ChatGPT to compare my articles, look for patterns, and uncover possible new niches to write for.”
And to that, we say….exactly.

Testimonials on Authory’s AI Assistant
We asked some of our existing customers to help us ideate on the AI Assistant (which is in the alpha stage right now). All of them are content creators, working with written, audio, and visual content professionally.
We gave them a detailed concept note on the Assistant, its intent, and what it is capable of doing (as seen in our tests). The response was immediate and overwhelming. Many of our customers absolutely loved the idea, and shared with us the possibilities they see being fulfilled in their own work life, thanks to the Authory Assistant:
“I’d love to be able to quickly find any sources I’ve used in the past, for example, to quickly find quotes I’ve used by person X. It would be great to also great to pull out any studies or data I’ve cited in case I haven’t saved it in my research database and so I can repurpose those studies for other articles.”
“This sounds great! I do legal content, and I’d love to use ChatGPT to collect all the research on laws I’ve done so I can add them to a knowledge base.”
“It would be very helpful not only to identify articles and videos that I participated in or did in the past, but a summary would be extremely helpful.”
“I love this idea! I’m writing a book atm, and it would be great to be able to refer back to the pieces I’ve written in the past and pull out the relevant information. Yes please!”
“Being able to find who I’ve spoken to in the past on topics I write about a lot would be very useful.”
“I was actually just thinking about messaging you about this. I have already used the notion GPT plug-in to summarize articles, pull themes out of past articles, and suggest follow-up stories. I think if I could leverage my full collection this would be super helpful and powerful. Would love to have access ASAP. Thanks!”
