J. Adrian Stanley is a journalist and communications specialist in Colorado Springs, where she is currently working in the pandemic response for public health. Stanley is the former News Editor of the Colorado Springs Independent, where she spent over a decade covering everything from politics to environmental issues to homelessness and health care policy. In addition to writing, she oversaw a team of dogged reporters, columnists and freelancers committed to seeking justice and telling the stories of Southern Colorado. Stanley previously worked as a news reporter for the Independent. Early in her career, she reported for the Colorado Springs Gazette and the Boulder Daily Camera. Stanley is the winner of over 35 awards for her writing. She received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering in the community, mountain biking, climbing, traveling and spending time with her husband Josh and cats, Brixton and Casbah.
