She loves every single thing about books except writing them--as she is now working on her third book titled Holy Food, which about food traditions and cookbooks published by cults, communes, and new religious movements in the United States. She is the author of American Advertising Cookbooks: How Corporations Taught Us to Love Spam, Bananas, and Jell-O. Preservation: The Art & Science of Canning, Fermentation, and Dehydration and she is also the Vice-President of Feral House / Process publishing, an internationally-acclaimed independent publisher.
