Writer, editor, columnist for newspapers and magazines, now enjoying life in the Pacific Northwest as a freelance writer and editor. Most of my career was spent as an editor and reporter for newspapers in the Rocky Mountains--the Albuquerque Journal, the Santa Fe New Mexican, and Wyoming's Star-Tribune. I became managing editor for Mother Earth News in 2001. I was head of the Home, Health and Traditions department as editor in chief of several smaller titles, some of which now have been folded into Mother Earth Living. After moving to Seattle, I began writing for Early Learning Nation, an independent online magazine that began as an initiative of the Bezos Family Foundation.
