A life spent chasing the hook — and making sure it lands.

My career began in the wild world of real-life features for women’s weeklies magazines. Chat, Take a Break, Bella, Woman’s Own - you get the idea. Miracle babies, love rats, runaway brides... brilliant fun, but not quite enough for a brain that craved something more strategic and substantial.

So I shifted gear into ‘serious journalism’ by joining the Press Association, where I ran a profitable lifestyle content syndication service creating features, property pages and editorial packages for national news titles.

Next came a stint at The Yorkshire Post, blending commercial features and contract publishing with glamorous dining gigs (think posh nosh, persuasive prose and the occasional food coma.)

It was at this eponymous regional publisher I first fell in love with branded content -helping businesses use print media advertorials to tell their story, reach new customers and gain cut-through in the competitive marketplace.

As online publishing took off, I swapped restaurants for runways as online editor at RAS Publishing, leading the digital content and social media strategy across four fashion-focused B2B titles. Later, I jumped into agency life, holding senior content roles at pioneering SEO agency Stickyeyes.

Add in a strategic PR chapter at Pelican Communications, working with the likes of the British Frozen Food Federation - and a stint forging content roadmaps at Cegedim Healthcare Solutions - and you’ve got a career as varied as it is vertically integrated.

I’ve also delivered end-to-end marketing campaigns for ecom fashion retailer bonprix, managed PR and events for luxury lifestyle brand Harvey Nichols and collaborated on everything from influencer strategies to essence videos spanning food, fashion, retail and beyond for a range of freelance clients.

I thrive in that space between the big-picture thinking and the practical doing - shaping brand narratives, developing campaign ideas, then bringing them to life through high-impact messaging across every channel.
