My Background in Language Studies

🌍 I'm a native American English speaker, and I love to learn languages from all around the world!

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Language Studies, with a minor in history. During my college years, I focused on French—but I also took classes in Mandarin Chinese, Italian, German, and three other languages. After graduation, I spent the academic year studying at Université Rennes 2 in Brittany, France.

I've studied five different Romance languages, including Romanian. I've dabbled in Scots Gaelic, Welsh, Irish, Ukrainian, and Haitian Creole. Currently, I'm working on mastering the fundamentals of Polish, Hebrew, and Greek.

Current CEFR Language Levels (Estimated)

  • French: C1 (Upper Intermediate/Advanced)
  • Portuguese: B2 (Upper Intermediate)
  • German: B1 (Intermediate)
  • Italian, Spanish, Romanian, & Haitian Creole: A2 (Elementary)
  • Polish, Hebrew, Ukrainian, Welsh, Irish, Scots Gaelic, and Greek: A1 (Beginner)

Language Learning and My Writing Process

If I'm writing about a language that I haven't studied yet, I familiarize myself with it through language-learning apps and other resources. I use my personal experience as a learner to inform my writing. This makes my content helpful and relatable for your target audience.
