Tanit Koch is a German journalist, columnist and moderator. She co-hosts the daily FOCUS Briefing and writes the column "Germansplaining" for the British weekly The New European.

Previously, she served as editor in chief of Germany's best-selling newspaper BILD, as editor of RTL Germany's central newsroom and managing director of the news channel ntv, where she co-hosted the business-meets-politics podcast Die Stunde Null. In 2021, she spent a stint outside journalism to oversee campaign communications for CDU frontrunner Armin Laschet.

Tanit started her career as a trainee at the politics/business desk of BILD and the Axel Springer Journalism School in 2005 and afterwards moved on to several leadership positions at BILD and WELT.

She has degrees in law and political science and is an alumna of the Stanford GSB Executive Program. She is an Atlantik Brücke Young Leader and a member of the Transatlantic Commission on Election Integrity. In 2023, she joined the advisory committee of the Washington-based Center for News, Technology and Innovation (CNTI).
