One of my research interests is that of Transhumanism. Transhumanism is the philosopical and scientific position that human beings should use technology to enhance human capabilities beyond current biological constraints, including cognitive and bodily functions.

With regard to an "ideal" societal position, with respect to the future of Transhumanism, one would want a society to have the following attributes: Superintelligence, Superlongevity, and Superhappiness(often denoted as a "Triple S" civilization).

Research Intersections - Transhumanism and Space Exploration

The intersection of Transhumanism and Space Exploration is one which provides a significant application-based use for research and technologies which are "Transhumanist" in nature. One such technology, which is still in early stages of research and practical application is Cryonics.

One such presentation I gave discussed applications of different human biostasis technologies, including Cryonics, for crewed space missions. I reviewed the historical developments of the research of the underlying technologies, their current maturity(using the NASA Technology-Readiness Level(TRL) system), and potential future applications.
