How does the Preview of content items work?

The preview image and preview texts of your work samples determine what a visitor will see on your portfolio or in your collections:

How to edit the preview?

You can edit the preview of a content anytime by going to your Portfolio editor or the respective Collection, clicking on the preview and selecting "Edit preview" from the dropdown menu:

What happens if a visitor clicks on a preview?

By default, if a visitor clicks on a preview on your portfolio or in a collection, they will be forwarded to the original content item. That means for all work samples that you have imported from another website, the visitor will be forwarded to the original website.

However, you can also switch the setting and make visitors see the backup copy that Authory created for you. Here is how

For content items that you have published directly with your Authory account (e.g. a PDF you uploaded), the visitor will be forwarded to said content item.

Can the preview title, description and thumbnail be different from the content copy's headline, text and image?

Yes! By default, the preview title, description and image are derived from the actual content item:

However, you can edit the preview independently from the content copy:
