Everyone who has had a blog for years has meant to clean up that old content, but have you?

Content Rot or Post Rot is a real thing. Content rot is the phenomenon of web content (or data) becoming outdated, irrelevant, or no longer useful, leading to a decline in performance and increased risks. It occurs when content is redundant (duplicated), obsolete (outdated), or trivial (provides no value). ROT (Redundant, Obsolete, Trivial) data and content can increase storage and maintenance costs, create security vulnerabilities, and hinder site performance, SEO, and user experience.

We go through your entire inventory of blog posts. We decide on one of these options;

1. The content is not worth keeping and may even be hurting your rankings. We find a relevant post or page and redirect the URL there and then delete the post.

2. The content is worth keeping, but it needs to be updated with relevant info or maybe it just needs to be dressed up; better header tags, a new image or two, some schema markup, better title tags and description. Then it's ready to update and share it on your social media platforms. We also update the sitemap and submit the URL to Google to let them know it has been updated so it will get crawled again.

3. Some of those revived posts are really valuable. In that case, we may turn it into an infographic, a short video, a slideshow, a PDF download, etc. Then we can repurpose that content on other publishing platforms like Medium, LinkedIn, Substack, YouTube, Instagram or your choice of all of the platforms out there.
