Shawna is a race and justice reporter who co-writes the Axios SF newsletter and serves as editor-in-chief of The Yappie, a nonprofit newsroom focused on AAPI politics. She previously covered breaking news on Axios' national desk and was awarded the Multicultural Media Correspondents Association’s Intersectional Reporting Prize in 2022. In her free time, she enjoys testing the limits of her spice tolerance.
