About Me

I'm a journalist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette covering real estate and development, with a focus on accountability reporting. I write about the projects and trends reshaping Pittsburgh — and their impact in communities across the city.

Since starting at the Post-Gazette, I've tracked a $600 million effort to revamp Downtown Pittsburgh, uncovered a backlog of tax-exempt property reviews and reported on the shutdown of a longstanding glass factory. I've also contributed to an investigation of defective breathing machines and covered the nation's largest probe into child sexual abuse within Jehovah's Witness congregations.

Before joining the Post-Gazette, I covered immigration and abortion policy, Texas wildfires and the state's cash bail system as a reporting fellow at the Texas Tribune. Previously, I worked with a team of reporters to investigate overexposure to carcinogenic dust in over 250 U.S. coal mines as a Medill Investigative Lab scholar.

I'm a graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, where I double-majored in journalism and political science and minored in art history.
