     As a senior reporter covering K-12 schools and higher education, she's traced how deportation policies are reshaping high schoolers' college plans, how rising healthcare costs are forcing districts to cut librarians and paraprofessionals, and how special education students face bullying that state and federal agencies have repeatedly failed to address.
     She's also reported on a district's push to name a school after President Donald Trump, college hiring freezes, fraternity hazing, and the way racial hate tested one college president's resolve to stay in the job.
     She's worked in the newsroom at NJ.com/The Star-Ledger and The American Prospect. Her work has also appeared in Chalkbeat NYC, City & State and DeSmog. She was a research and reporting fellow at Vanity Fair after graduating from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY. Her capstone project was a feature-writing finalist in the Education Writers Association's National Awards for Education Reporting.
     Before becoming a journalist, she worked in public schools and colleges in New York City.
