     As a senior reporter covering pre-K-12 schools and higher education, she's traced how deportation policies are reshaping high schoolers' college plans, how rising healthcare costs are forcing districts to cut librarians and paraprofessionals and how special education families have fought for systems that comply with federal law.  
     She's also reported on a district's push to name a school after President Donald Trump, college hiring freezes, fraternity hazing, and the way racial hate tested one college president's resolve to stay in the job.
     She's worked in the newsroom at NJ.com/The Star-Ledger and The American Prospect. Her work has also appeared in Chalkbeat NYC, City & State and DeSmog. She was a research and reporting fellow at Vanity Fair after graduating from the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at CUNY. She was a feature-writing finalist in the Education Writers Association's National Awards for Education Reporting.
     Before becoming a journalist, she worked in public schools and colleges in New York City.
