Hi, I’m Kimberly Alex Crane.
I am a writer, editor, and content strategist with more than eleven years of experience in traditional and digital media. I began my communications career with the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA). In my role as an NJEA communications consultant, I write and edit articles, speeches, and strategic content that highlight the impact of public education and lift the voices of educators across New Jersey.
Over the past decade, I have contributed to many initiatives at NJEA that inform, connect, and inspire members.
In 2021, I launched my own media company, The Allentown NJN Balance LLC. The Balance currently operates as a digital-first social media platform focused on community connections, news, and advertising, with plans to expand into a print town newspaper. While digital platforms offer immediacy, print remains a powerful way to connect with readers. I hope to blend both formats to reach the widest readership and ensure important local stories are accessible to everyone.
I recently retired from my full-time role as an elementary art teacher. While I do miss my students, retirement has opened new space for my own creative work. I am grateful for more time to write and continue advocating for public education while spending meaningful time with my family, our five dogs, and our many other animals.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy gardening, painting, horseback riding, music, cooking, and gathering with friends. I value every opportunity to spend time with my family outdoors.
