About Me

Jenny Jacoby is a journalist and environmentalist currently based in Florida.

With an interdisciplinary background spanning politics, journalism and environmental science, Jenny is interested in the ways policy, people and the environment intersect.

A graduate of the University of Miami, Jenny earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Environmental Science and Policy, with a minor in Arabic Studies. She graduated summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA.

During her time at the University of Miami, Jenny served for two years as editor-in-chief of The Miami Hurricane, the university’s nationally recognized student newspaper. Her work as a reporter earned her recognition as an Associated Collegiate Press Pacemaker Finalist for Reporter of the Year, along with additional awards for editorial writing and crisis coverage.

Jenny’s professional experience has taken her across journalism, public affairs and environmental work. She has worked at WLRN, South Florida’s NPR affiliate; as a legal intern with the People’s Economic & Environmental Resiliency Group; and, most notably, at Coconut Grove Spotlight, a nonprofit community newspaper where she reported extensively on local government, development, environmental issues and the people of Miami.

Born and raised in Cape Coral, Florida, Jenny developed an interest in writing and the environment at a young age. Her reporting has continued to reflect those interests.

In the summer of 2026, Jenny stepped away from reporting in Florida to spend four months traveling through the United States. She hiked, camped and explored more than a dozen national parks and states, gaining a firsthand appreciation for the country’s diverse landscapes, climates and environmental challenges.

Jenny is currently seeking opportunities where she can bring together her experience in journalism, communications, research and environmental policy.
