Gage Roberts (he/him) is a trans, disabled writer, filmmaker, and storyteller of mixed Métis, Algonquin, French, and Irish ancestry. Disrupting and blurring forms like memoir, horror and autofiction, his stories explore intergenerational trauma, ableism, Indigenous sovereignty, prison abolition, addiction, sex work and more while foregrounding his personal experiences.

Gage has self-published 13 pieces, ranging from personal essays to narrative nonfiction. His zine Hustle Hustle Hustle (2013), which combined lived experience and critical analysis of sex work, transphobia, the prison industrial complex, and addiction, was distributed by Lambda Literary Award-winning publisher Metonymy Press. He was also nominated for Favourite Trans Model and Most Popular Trans Masculine Performer in the 2024 PH Awards for his film work and has screened at London Porn Film Festival (2019) and Berlin Porn Film Festival (2019).

Born and raised in Thadinadoniih (Guelph, ON), Gage was incarcerated as a youth at Invictus Youth Prison, Bluewater Youth Prison, and Portage Youth Treatment Centre (2004–2007). At 18 years old, he was again incarcerated at Vanier Correctional Centre (2008–2009). He has been active in anti-prison movements since age 15.

Gage is now based in Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyang (Montreal, QC), where he has been teaching himself traditional basketry, skinning the occasional roadkill on his balcony, and spending as much time on the land as possible.

Ghosts of a Living Body will be his first book.
