F. Amanda Tugade is a Chicago journalist and has written for several publications, including USA Today, Chicago Reader, Chicago Magazine, Shaw Media, New Noise Magazine and Belt Publishing's "The Chicago Neighborhood Guidebook."

Her most recent stop was the Des Moines Register, where she covered social justice issues in Iowa, with a focus on housing, food insecurity and immigration.
