Managed and led a team of writers and editors to routinely edit and refresh existing top transactional credit card pages and reviews. Created monthly editorial calendars based on known business needs and resources to meet monthly credit card-related article production goals. Collaborated cross-functionally with SEO and business teams to achieve key objectives and maintain credit card content compliance.

Key responsibilities:

Spearheading transactional content library freshness: I led the content strategy for our transactional "Best cards" pages. In this part of my role, I improved the editorial team's collaboration with SEO and Content Operations to streamline our production process. I led monthly performance and brainstorming meetings to align vision and goals for the month, working closely with SEO to bring the teams together in a collaborative setting.
I also worked on a cross-functional to launch new tools on these pages that match users with recommended credit cards. This included ranking those credit cards in a logic system and organizing editorial quotes from team members to increase E-E-A-T signals on the page.
I spearheaded effort and led writers to update expert quotes on the team's top 10 pages to provide industry expert insights to users. This included getting quotes from J.D. Power, Experian, CFP Board Ambassadors, Credit Builders Alliance, finance industry influencers, and credit card content creators.
Building monthly editorial calendar for transactional content: I planned out transactional content based on pages' set refresh cadences and assigned other team members to writing and editing tasks based on their strengths and background in those topics.
Monetizing content: I collaborated closely with an SEO partner to analyze the our "mid-funnel" content library for monetization. We prioritized content based on revenue, sessions and other performance metrics to identify the URLs with the largest potential impact. This was content that wasn't previously monetized, but we expanded their revenue impact by overhauling and updating them. I also began efforts to migrate these pages to a CMS that better supported the design elements needed for an improved UX.
Ensuring compliance: As part of my regular duties, credit card content compliance was a cornerstone of the editing process. It was crucial to our success as an editorial team for our content to have the correct disclosures, products names, rates, and benefits details. The accuracy of our content was directly tied to our relationship with issuers as well as providing correct information as advertisers under Regulation Z. I regularly reviewed content, updated team documentation, and communicated with the compliance team to ensure our compliance.

Key accomplishments:

Expanded mid-funnel transactional content URLs from 0 to 25 in three months, driving $12K in revenue in nine months.
Optimized content refresh workflow to increase updates on top revenue-driving pages from 17 times a year to 26 times a year.
Used automation tools to enhance the compliance team's task assigning process to decrease the content review time from a 10-day average to a 4-day average.
Pitched and wrote a trending credit card news article that led to $40K in revenue in 24 hours.
