Hello!

I'm Christine Romero-Chan, a journalist who has been writing about technology for 15 years. Ever since I was a kid, I knew I wanted to write for a living, whether it was fiction or news. I went to California State University Long Beach and graduated with my degree in Journalism and Mass Communications, with a minor in English Creative Writing.

I began my career at AppAdvice.com as a reviewer of iPhone apps and games. I connected with plenty of iOS developers through this job, and I became an expert at writing about software and mobile games. I began to review iPhone accessories as well, which was a booming market at the time. Eventually, I led a team of app and game reviewers by getting assignments delegated out to the appropriate writers while also writing myself. With this experience, I moved up to become a managing editor, as I continued to write, delegate, and copy edit articles from all the other staff writers.

After some side gigs at MacLife, MakeUseOf, and LifeHacker, I started to freelance at iMore.com. Here, I not only wrote about iOS apps and games, but I also expanded to news pieces, how-to guides of iOS/macOS/watchOS software, hardware and accessory reviews, editorial pieces, features, comparisons, evergreen commerce articles, buyer's guides, Prime Day and Black Friday/Cyber Monday (BFCM) coverage, and more. In 2019, I became a full time staff writer at iMore and continued all of my Apple coverage without breaking a sweat. If you needed to know something about Apple products or wanted recommendations, I'm your girl! My hard work was recognized, and I got promoted to a Senior Editor, as I began to manage the staff writers and delegate tasks, plan out the weekly content schedule, and also edit copy submitted by other writers before they were scheduled and published through our content management system (CMS), Drupal, before it changed to Vanilla after the Future acquisition.

I left iMore in 2022 to join Digital Trends as a Mobile Staff Writer. This role not only meant that I could use my Apple knowledge about iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch to help readers get more out of their devices, but it was also my opportunity to get out of the Apple garden and explore Android and other mobile technology, including wearables and AI. Since I've joined Digital Trends, I have written many reviews of flagship devices, including iPhones and Android phones (iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, Samsung Galaxy S24, OnePlus 12, Google Pixel 9 Pro, etc.), done how-to guides for iOS and Android software, smartphone camera comparisons, breaking news pieces, evergreen commerce articles, deals posts for Prime Day and BFCM, editorials and features, and longer research pieces that require a deep dive into the history of product releases. I became an expert at using WordPress at Digital Trends, and I was always full of ideas to pitch to my editor and even copy edited other articles when asked to.

As you can see, I have a lot of experience in the technology journalism sector, especially when it comes to the mobile industry. I am looking to expand my expertise in this field since it's constantly evolving, but also open to other roles as well. I am especially keen on writing about theme parks, such as Disneyland, as that is what I spend most of my time with when I'm not writing.
