One man died and several people were injured in an assault and residential fire in Monroe Township during the early morning of Oct. 17.
Monroe County sheriff's deputies responded to reports of an active assault and a house fire on the 1200 block of Raintree Boulevar at 5:37 a.m. The injured people received medical care and were taken to area hospitals, according to the sheriff's office.
The incident appears to be isolated and an investigation is ongoing, assisted by Michigan State Police and Monroe Public Safety, the sheriff's office said in a press release.
