Hi! I'm Anna McLean. I'm a University of Michigan undergraduate, student journalist, and unapologetic em-dash lover. I’m majoring in Political Science and minoring in Law, Justice, and Social Change in the LSA Honors Program, where I'm learning what it takes to tell stories that resonate with my community and incite change.

Currently, I'm serving in my role as the Managing Editor of Focal Point, The Michigan Daily's dedicated investigative journalism section. I also freelance for the New York Times and the Ann Arbor Observer, where I interned this past summer. In the future, I hope to work in newsrooms that produce impactful reporting, whether through investigations, political coverage or narrative-driven stories that capture the true humanity of the news.

When I’m not chasing a story or editing a lede, you’ll likely find me with a beach read in hand, sipping an overpriced Ann Arbor matcha, or posting pictures of my adorable cat, Juno.
