I believe meaningful progress happens at the intersection of curiosity, collaboration, and communication. These values have guided me throughout my career as a journalist, educator, and communicator dedicated to building stronger, more connected communities through storytelling.

As managing editor for La Conner Community News, I helped launch a nonprofit newsroom that blends traditional reporting with modern tools and community engagement. Our team produces a weekly print newspaper and email newsletter as well as daily social updates, that inform and connect the Town of La Conner and the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community.

Previously, I was the general manager for Cascadia Daily, an independent newspaper based out of Bellingham, Washington.

My professional path has also included leadership roles in higher education and digital media, from teaching journalism and public relations courses at universities to developing content strategies and producing digital content. I’ve worked across disciplines—editorial, design, business, and technology—to manage integrated strategies that strengthen communication, inspire engagement, and make information accessible to all.

At the heart of my work is a deep curiosity about how people connect—to information, to each other, and to their communities. I believe inclusive dialogue fuels innovation, and that listening is just as important as leading. Whether in a newsroom, classroom, or strategy meeting, I strive to create spaces where ideas grow, collaboration thrives, and every voice has a place at the table.
