About Me

Hey y’all. My name is Amy, and I’m a journalist, writer, and editor based in Dallas, Texas. For the past decade, I’ve been covering dining, food culture, policy, labor, and trends, most recently at the national dining publication Eater.

I started blogging in 2009, and I’ve been writing ever since. I’ve been the editorial lead at a parenting website, reviewed dozens of concerts and live events, and worked as a copywriter and digital strategist for nonprofits and small businesses.

As a journalist, my work has appeared in Texas Monthly, Vox, Cosmopolitan, Vice, Pitchfork, Salon, Bloomberg’s CityLab, Playboy, and numerous other outlets. I’ve interviewed everyone from Dolly Parton to Dwyane Wade, and have extensive experience in covering breaking news, longform journalism, and the timeless art of the snappy, quick-hit news blog.

As a digital strategist, I’ve worked with nonprofits and small businesses to develop social media copy that is both engaging and drives brand awareness. I’ve written press releases for bands and independent artists and managed sprawling editorial projects, along with copywriting and ghostwriting.

I’m currently open to freelance, contract, and full-time work. If you’ve got an exciting project that needs a strong writer and communicator known for clean, engaging copy, I’d love to talk with you about it.
