Welcome to my website! My name is Alexandra Glorioso, and I am an investigative journalist on ProPublica’s Texas team. Before that, I spent a decade covering politics, health care and the state government in Florida.
Last year, I broke a series with two colleagues about how Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' administration diverted more than $35 million of taxpayer money to a political campaign in 2024 led to an ongoing state grand jury probe into whether certain transactions in that effort were illegal.
In 2022, I broke a story about a subsidiary of Centene not providing in-home health care to disabled children during the pandemic, which led to the largest state fine against a Medicaid company in Florida: $9.1 million. A series I reported on with two colleagues at POLITICO Florida in 2017 led to two independent probes and resignations of two powerful state senators over sexual harassment allegations.
My husband, Lawrence, and I have a little terrier named Lily. We love to go on adventures with her.
I am a stage IV breast cancer survivor. Thanks to recent scientific breakthroughs, I do not expect to die from my disease. It is more of a chronic illness. Life is beautiful.
