Alex Garland is a Seattle-based photojournalist and documentary photographer whose work focuses on environmental issues, civic movements, and community life in the Pacific Northwest. Garland’s photography and reporting have appeared in publications including South Seattle Emerald, Capitol Hill Seattle, The Stranger, and 1889 Magazine. Garland is the recipient of the 2020 Humanitarian Award from the National Press Photographers Association and multiple awards from the Society of Professional Journalists Western Washington chapter.
