Authory can find your new articles, videos and podcasts and then import them to your Authory account automatically. And if you like, those new content items will automatically appear on your portfolio, making it auto-updating.

Authory's automagic importing

  • When you use the "automagic" import option to import all your articles from a website, or an entire podcast series, or an entire YouTube channel, Authory will automatically look for future content of yours at the respective source.

  • For articles, that means all future pieces with your byline will be added; for podcasts series and YouTube channels, that includes all future episodes and videos in the series or from the channel respectively.

  • By default, anything that gets imported to your Authory account can be found in your Content Archive. That's private and only accessible by you, it's essentially an archive of your entire body of work at your fingertips.

  • You can decide what content items to show publicly by adding them to one or more collections. The collections can be displayed on your portfolio or used standalone. Learn more

Here is how you make your portfolio auto-updating

Click on the cog wheel icon next to a collection on your portfolio (authory.com/app/portfolio), then select "Rules & Auto-updating" from the dropdown menu:

A new window will open that enables you to select all content items with a specific keyword, from a specific source or of a specific type from your Content Archive and add them to the collection. These "rules" are essentially filtering your Content Archive to add exactly the pieces that you want to appear in the collection:

Select the filters you want and make sure that the "Auto-update" toggle is on. That way all future content items that match the filter settings will appear on your portfolio. By doing that, you'll have the holy grail: An auto-updating portfolio.

Example: User John wants his portfolio to auto-update with all future articles that he writes for techcrunch.com.

  1. John uses Authory's automagic import option to fetch all articles with his byline from techcrunch.com.

  2. Then he creates a collection on his portfolio, opens the settings and clicks "Rules & auto-updating".

  3. He selects "TechCrunch" as the source filter, so the collection automatically populates with all his existing articles from TechCrunch.

  4. John enables the "Auto-update" toggle to make sure all future pieces from TechCrunch will land in this collection, too.

..and that's it! As soon as John publishes a new article on techcrunch.com, Authory will find it and add it to his account. Because John has a collection with a filter for articles from techcrunch.com on his portfolio, this collection will be updated, too, and the new article will appear on John's portfolio.
