Thursday's 2 p.m. hearing centers around Jeffrey Clark's motion to force the Fulton County DA into turning over any evidence she has showing meetings with the US government, including the White House counsel's office

The Donald Trump legal spotlight turns back to Georgia on Thursday afternoon when one of the former president's co-defendants presents arguments in his quest for access to any records showing Fulton County prosecutors coordinated with the Biden White House.

Jeffrey Clark is a former senior Trump DOJ official facing two state felony counts for his role in the alleged election-racketeering campaign to overturn the results of the 2020 election that Biden won.

Clark's lawyers in a Jan. 12 motion as they prepare for a potential state trial asked Fulton County Superior Court Scott McAfee to give his OK to force Willis into turning over any evidence she has showing meetings with the federal government, including the White House counsel's office.

In their court filing, Clark's lawyers said they had written to Willis' office seeking those materials but the DA's office replied it "had fully complied with all of its statutory discovery and disclosure obligations and declined to provide the information we had requested.''

Republicans held the hearing to criticize the alleged targeting and prosecutions of January 6th defendants.

Later in their motion, Clark's attorneys argued the information they're seeking regarding contacts between Willis' office and the Biden officials "may be material to the outcome of the case or helpful to the defense, if it supports an argument that the prosecution of this case is tainted with partisan political objectives coordinated with, suggested or directed by the White House."
