"I've met a few accomplished writers, skilled digital marketeers, and inspirational content strategists in my time. But I've only met all three outstanding capabilities in one person. And that person is Tess. She's been an absolute catalyst in the way we market ourselves at WriteRecruit - a ball of energy, intellect, ideas and (crucially) delivery. Her background in both journalism and employer branding means that Tess is able to target any community through storytelling, embrace any marketing technique to reach that audience, measure the results with real insight - while at the same time being a wonderful team member and an absolute joy to work with. She's a rare individual indeed - and someone I will always rely on for the very best narratives in both B2B and recruitment marketing."

Steve McNally, Co-Founder, WriteRecruit

"Tess characterized her work style as an English-native professional writer and editor in part as “detail-oriented down to the last errant comma.” I was at once impressed—and even more so when it proved to be true. But, Tess is also a “writer’s writer”—big-picture creative, lightning fast and generous with her colleagues. Her professionalism brought rigor to our news organization, quality to all our published work and cohesion to our messaging across media. Tess is a team player who helped raise the quality and quantity of content from the entire team. Tess led the writing and content development for the University’s successful new website. Her innovative ideas and sense of style developed the voice of XJTLU in the global marketplace."

Leslie Sturino, Director, University Marketing and Communication, Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University

"Bright, able, and a team player with a great work ethic, Tess hit the ground running and rapidly developed great internal and external networks and a solid understanding of Chinese media and culture. A talented wordsmith, Tess has a very broad skillset and an ability to identify, craft and place stories to deliver maximum impact. She worked on a wide range of projects including PR, collateral, speeches, web and online content and also supported various events and special projects. Tess is a strong team player with lots of natural curiosity and the ability to spot and develop a good story, translating material across both on and offline channels to gain the best possible results."

Emma Leech, Director of Marketing, Communications and Recruitment, University of Nottingham

"Tess is an excellent writer with a great eye for a story. I worked with her for two years at Sheffield Hallam University and she was an integral part of a small communications team, playing an important role in our transition from a traditional media relations operation into a 21st century newsroom and digital communications office. A skilled and articulate communicator, Tess is diligent and principled, and great fun to work with. She has gained lots of communications and marketing experience from positions across the globe and I recommend her highly."

Ally Mogg, Director of Communications and Engagement at Sheffield Hallam University
