So I am a Christmas movie fanatic. No, like, really. I will watch every single one, no matter how cringey. I have even considered getting basic cable for the sole purpose of having the Hallmark Channel for the holiday season (don't judge).
Because I'm a self-proclaimed Cheesy Christmas Movie connoisseur, I have taken upon myself to list the cheesiest ones you can find on Netflix. Honestly, you're welcome.
1. First, Christmas Inheritance
Nothing screams "This is a cheesy Christmas movie" quite like a business person visiting a small, quaint town. This film follows Ellen, a socialite who wants to inherit her father's company. However, she *must* visit his small town (where all big shot company owners come from) and learn the true meaning of hard work and helping others.
2. A Christmas Prince
Ah, a Netflix Christmas classic. A Christmas Prince is about a young, naive journalist who takes on a gig to scoop out a scandal on the oh-so-dashing prince who is soon to become king. Will she fall in love? Hmmmm.
3. A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding
SURPRISE! She fell in love. After a year of helping the prince secure the crown, Amber returns to Aldovia to plan their wedding. But, oh no—she's not used to their royal protocols. Will she change their old-fashioned ways and marry the prince? Hmm.
4. A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby
SURPRISE! She did. Now a queen and totally knocked up, she must save her family and kingdom by unwrapping a monarchy mystery.. ooOOoh. Honestly, a great Christmas trilogy, that'll make you think "Hmm, I should have been a journalist."
5. Christmas With A Prince
If you still haven't gotten enough princes and Christmas, well then Christmas With A Prince is definitely your next bet. We love a good "butting heads but slowly falling in love" story, am I right? This film follows a (obviously) dedicated pediatrician who meets a carefree prince when he gets into a ski accident and has to recover alongside her young patients.
6. The Knight Before Christmas
Have you ever seen Kate and Leopold? This is kind of like that. A 14th-century knight has been sent to modern-day Ohio (a typical location for medieval magic to send people) where he meets a high school science teacher who's disillusioned by love. Will she open her heart for the handsome knight? *swoon*
7. The Holiday Calendar
This movie made me want an advent calendar. Like a normal one, not a magical one. I mean I wouldn't be opposed to a magical advent calendar. A talented photographer, played by the beautiful Kat Graham, is stuck in a dead-end job until she inherits an antique advent calendar that may be predicting her future. It's actually pretty cute and she plays the part so well.
8. Just Another Christmas
Stuck in a time loop ~a-la-Groundhog Day~ where it's Christmas every day, a family man who hates the holidays starts to learn valuable lessons about what's important in life.
9. A Very Country Christmas
Looking for some *extra* cheese? This film follows an unfulfilled country music star who hides out in his hometown (the perfect place to hide, I doubt no one knows where you're from as a famous music star) where he meets a budding interior designer who finds her way into his heart. One could say she.. designed..his..heart—nevermind.
10. The Princess Switch
Vanessa Hudgens graces us with not one but ~two~ versions of herself. How did we get so lucky? When the down-to-earth baker version of Vanessa Hudgens meets the soon-to-be-princess version of her with a lovely accent, they hatch a Christmastime plan to trade places.
11. The Princess Switch: Switched Again
Did you think two Vanessa Hudgens was good? How about three? When the princess’s coronation complicates her love life, they plan another switcharoo but will a THIRD look-alike ruin their plans? Oh man.
12. Christmas Catch
A cop working undercover to trail a possible diamond thief gets into a pickle when she finds not just new clues...but ~feelings~ for the suspect. Can anyone guess what the plot twist might be?
13. Christmas Wedding Planner
A wedding planner's world is shaken when she meets the private investigator hired to disrupt one of her biggest jobs. Will she plan the perfect wedding? Will everything be ruined because of the handsome PI she definitely isn't falling for?
14. Holidate
Emma Roberts is honestly just the cutest and nails every film I've ever seen her in. Albeit this movie is not based solely around Christmas, it's definitely got the spirit! Fed up with being single every holiday, two complete strangers agree to be each other's platonic dates all year long only to, you guessed it, catch feels.
15. Christmas In The Smokies
Nothing like a "save the family business" Christmas movie to really bring up the cheese factor. In the Smoky Mountains, an ambitious woman works hard to save her family's berry farm. If that's not enough, her ex, a country music star (don't we all have famous music star exes?) comes to town.
16. This Christmas
Gathering to celebrate Christmas together after four years apart, the fam uses this opportunity to air out their true feelings. If you're into family drama/love, this one is actually pretty cute!
17. Operation Christmas Drop
Kat Graham is killing it with the Christmas movies! This film follows a by-the-book political aide who falls for an Air Force pilot while looking to shut down his tropical base and its airborne Christmas tradition.
18. Christmas In The Heartland
Ah the old switcharoo truly never fails this holiday season. Two girls realize they're both visiting grandparents they've never met so they decide to switch places to see how the other half lives. Definitely a cheesy teen movie.
19. Holiday Rush
I absolutely *love* Romany Malco so you know I had to watch this one. A widowed radio DJ (it's him *swoon*) and his four spoiled children need to tighten their belts when their comfortable life of luxury ends abruptly just before Christmas when they move in with his aunt.
20. Midnight At The Magnolia
Two radio hosts fake their relationship for their family and listeners in hopes of getting their show syndicated. I wonder if they fall in love in the process? Nah, that'd be too cheesy, right?
21. Christmas With A View
A ski resort is booming when a celebrity chef is named the new head chef. As they butt heads, Clara soon realizes they have more in common than she previously thought. Also, nothing says Christmas like a snowy ski resort.
22. A New York Christmas Wedding
In a very modern and unique twist on A Christmas Carol, a yuletide angel shows a bride how life could have been had she followed feelings to her childhood best friend. It's an LGBTQ+ movie and it will warm your heart, trust me.
23. Holiday In The Wild
Kristin Davis stars as the main character in this not-so-Christmasy holiday movie. When her husband ends their marriage, Kate decides to embark on a second honeymoon in Africa. While there she rescues a baby elephant with the pilot who brought her there and nurses the elephant back to health while learning how much she loves her new surroundings. Again, not very "Christmasy", but definitely worth putting on the list.
24. Santa Girl
Santa Girl follows Santa Claus' only daughter who sets off to college before she is forced to marry the son of Jack Frost and take over the family business. It's always fun to come up with stories of what Santa's life may actually be like if he had a teenage daughter, isn't it?
25. Hometown Holiday
A woman who (surprise!) escapes the hustle and bustle of the city in favor of her small hometown finds herself falling in love with a rancher. However, he may not be what he seems.
Fun fact: This movie is based on a book!
26. Holly Star
A broke puppeteer returns home for the holidays and gets caught up in the thrill of a treasure hunt with her best friend, grandmother, and childhood sweetheart. The treasure is buried somewhere under her town and all she has to do to find it is die—well, almost. It's another "definitely cheesy, but also kind of cute" guilty pleasure for me, personally.
27. And finally, A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish
Because we can never have too many Cinderella-based films, here's another! This story follows an aspiring singer who is stalled on her path to stardom by her (yes, you definitely guessed it) stepmother and evil stepsisters. When she starts working at a job to help her dreams come true, she begins to fall in love with the handsome new Santa.
