How do those seeking to recruit skills in shortage address the rising tide of fraudulent applications? Assembling a consortium to produce and accredit training and assessment micro-modules regarding use of the emerging tools and services to improve identification, vetting and authorisation with regard to financial services jobs and applications is expected to be one of the work streams of the advisory group of the London Cyber Resilience Centre. In the mean time this Reed Screening event is a good introduction to the issues.

It is a delicious irony that the means of assessing and vetting applicants for the cyber security roles to secure such systems is one of the areas NOT yet covered by a Better Hiring Institute work stream. Nor is it current a priority for the Cyber Security Council.

It is, of course, a major problem for MoD who also want to assess the current/potential patriotism of applicants. And the two should NOT be confused because the global players of the City of London may well want to employ those with "shared loyalties" in key roles to help secure systems which are part of the critical financial infrastructure of nations which are not current allies of the UK/US, other than in the war against crime and fraud.
Hence the question in my latest blog https://lnkd.in/eyDfrdug
