The exhibition is the first of its kind in the Middle East
Listen up aesthetes and amateur art lovers because we have exciting news for you.
A new contemporary art gallery has launched in Dubai with a very unique stroke.
Galloire is the first gallery in the Middle East to use virtual reality and augmented reality to create a completely online exhibition for you to peruse regardless of your location.
The brainchild of British businessman and art collector Edward Gallagher, the gallery is intended to give art collectors in the UAE the opportunity to get their mitts on a range of limited edition prints, photography, sculptures and works on paper from the world’s top artists - even if they aren't showcasing any of their crafts in the Middle East.
The first exhibit, Beneath, features the work of British contemporary artist Nick Veasey, and will consist of X-ray images of supercars, human beings, high-fashion accessories and more.
How do we access the art gallery, we hear you ask?
Beneath can explored, free of charge, in virtual reality on any browser via tis link or any VR headset, and in augmented reality from mobile devices.
It’s the second piece of exciting news for Dubai’s art lovers in as many weeks, with the opening of Infinity Des Lumières on Thursday July 1.
The largest digital art centre in the GCC, the art exhibition in The Dubai Mall is spread over 2,700 metres and is a technology-driven artistic platform using some 130 projectors, 58 speakers, and 3,000 HD digital moving images.
