With no rule of law, the nation's religious minorities, subjected to abductions, church burnings and murder, find little recourse in a country that treats them as second-class citizens.

As a newspaper reporter, I investigated violations of religious freedom and was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize. I traveled to China, Burma, Suday, Egypt and Pakistan, where I did in-depth, on-the-ground reporting about the persecution of Christians.
