“Give me the luxuries of life and I will willingly do without the necessities,” Frank Lloyd Wright famously quipped. But at Camelot Homes, we believe the two are not mutually exclusive, nor should they be. When it comes to custom home designs, luxury and necessity go hand-in-hand.

For snowbirds soon flocking to Arizona, luxury living is at your fingertips. With so many ways to make your second home feel just as warm and inviting as your main home base, here are some suggestions to help you seamlessly bring both homes together as one:

With temperatures in the 60s and 70s throughout the fall and winter, you will undoubtedly spend a considerable amount of time outdoors. Consider planting some of your favorite plants and flowers in decorative pots dotting your large covered patio. If you have a windchime back home, consider bringing it with you to Arizona and fastening it to your patio or a tree branch to remind you of home.
A home feels most inviting and welcoming when there are feel-good family photos proudly displayed throughout. As you go about your everyday routine in your luxurious Camelot Home, you will see these photos and think back on the wonderful memories you have made with family and friends over your lifetime. Be sure to place framed photos in places you use the most, like the nightstand in your master suite, atop your mantle or in your custom kitchen.
Do you have a green thumb? Or are you more comfortable in the kitchen whipping up a batch of your famous chocolate chip cookies? Whatever the case, be sure to bring your favorite hobbies with you when you embark for Arizona. Continuing to do the things you love most will help you find your natural rhythm in your new setting. When you settle in for the winter, consider researching local groups or events that sync up with your hobbies. You may just meet your new best friend after signing up for a cooking class at the local Sur La Table or attending a gardening seminar at the neighborhood Home Depot.

Whether you are in Arizona for a few months or are planning to relocate permanently, Camelot Homes can help you feel right at home with custom home designs that fit your lifestyle.
