One thing you’re probably not cleaning often enough? Your espresso machine. You might be thinking, how does one even clean an espresso machine? It’s actually so easy, you barely have to lift a finger—these Active tablets do all the work for you. And a pack of 120 is just $23, making them about 20 cents apiece.
According to one reviewer, the tablets help remove years of accumulated gunk from espresso machines, which is especially helpful if you can’t remember the last time you cleaned yours. They clean residue, descale, and get rid of odor-causing buildup in automatic, semiautomatic, and manual machines. The tablets work well across a variety of brands, too, including Ninja, Mr. Coffee, and Breville.

Not only do the tablets remove buildup to ensure a pristine machine, but shoppers say the descaling process doesn’t leave any aftertaste in their espresso either. They “noticeably get more coffee in a cup” after cleaning their machines, with “significant improvement in the taste,” too.
“Much cleaner and richer flavors,” another fan said. “These tablets are a must-have for anyone who wants to maintain their espresso machine and ensure consistently great coffee.”
The tablets also couldn’t be easier to use; there’s no need to measure anything. All you have to do is fill the water tank, place a tablet on the portafilter, and run a cleaning cycle. When it’s finished, remove the portafilter, and run a pour cycle to clear out the rest of the water. Voilà! All clean with almost no effort.
Even experienced baristas swear by the espresso-machine cleaner. One reviewer said, “Ten-year barista here. I’ve had to clean many machines in the past. These [tablets] worked great and did the job!”
Another person said that they used the tablets to clean a 9-year-old machine that had never been cleaned before. “After I ran it through the first cycle, a bunch of nasty brown scum and coffee water came out,” they shared. “It was a no-brainer to get the espresso [maker] cleaner, and it did an amazing job.”
