"Long before I hired Kate, I read her columns in Exit Zero because they were “grabby” from the first sentence. Each column never failed to entertain as well as inform. That’s a gift she possesses and willingly shares. When the opportunity to hire a new Editor at Cape Publishing came along, I immediately thought of getting Kate in for an interview. It turned out to be beneficial for both of us.
I knew her writing skills would be an asset; her editing skills turned out to be excellent as well. I’ve never suggested a topic for her to write about that she was unable to do. Kate has been a contributor with us since 2012, and has held the position of editor of Cape May Magazine since 2014. But her responsibilities went beyond editing other writers’ work. She has authored several recurring issue columns and many feature stories as well. As for editing her work, there were very few occasions when it was needed at all.
Kate continues to write for Cape May Magazine including her own personal From teh Editor letter in each issue. She writes most of the captions, headlines and deck lines for each issue as well. To say that Kate has “a way with words” is certainly accurate—but it’s an understatement. " - Bernie Haas - Publisher, Cape Publishing

“I’ve been working with Kate since 2018, and she’s truly one of the best editors I’ve ever written for. She has that rare ability to make your work stronger without ever losing your voice, and because she’s such a talented writer herself, her edits always come from a place of real understanding. On top of that, she’s responsive, supportive, and just a joy to work with.” – Danielle Davies - Writer | Speaker | Host of The Roar Podcast | Creator of UNMUTED

"For many years, I’ve worked alongside Kate Chadwick. She’s a writer who has an uncanny ability to hit every nail on the head in everything she writes. She combines unique personal insights and self awareness with good, old-fashioned writerly skill. After you’ve read something by Kate, you’ve not only learned something, you’ve also gotten to know her. She can be sharp, even biting, but also damn funny." - Bob Dreyfuss Co-Editor, The New Jersey Democrat NJDemocrat.substack.com

"I worked with Kate Chadwick for a decade at The WC Press, Taste WC, and Cape May Magazine, both as a fellow writer and frequent collaborator on last-minute pieces to flesh out page count. Kate is a gifted storyteller, able to capture the unique essence of the people she encounters from all walks of life, riveting her readers with narratives filled with her signature warmth and wit." - Jesse Piersol, Media Professional Writing | Filmmaking | Public Speaking | Media Strategy

“I gave Kate Chadwick her first job in journalism and was impressed by her hunger, determination and natural way with words. Since then, she has evolved from a writer to an editor of a well-executed lifestyle magazine. She has a good instinct for stories and knows how to get them into print.” - Jack Wright, Publisher/Editor, Exit Zero

“I’ve had the privilege of working closely with Kate Chadwick for the past three years at Cape Publishing, where she is the Editor of Cape May Magazine. Kate was pivotal in shaping my roles with the company as a staff writer and editorial assistant. She was immediately hands-on with my integration process into the team which was invaluable, as it was my first professional position out of college. Her skills of communication and teamwork made this a smooth transition.
Kate has taught me a significant amount about writing and editing, not just through direct mentorship, but by example. On more than one occasion I have witnessed her sharp editorial instincts in action in terms of troubleshooting potential mishaps during the story writing process while managing a team of writers. Her keen eye for detail has kept our material clean and readable.
Of the many skills required as an editor and colleague, Kate checks all the boxes, and as a writer she is an inspiration. My role as subscription manager gives me access to the feedback of our readers, and they regard Kate’s consistent written contributions as a highlight of the publication. Her experience, wit, and natural charisma shine through in every article she produces.
I am fortunate to learn from and be encouraged by such a hardworking, creative powerhouse whose voice I will never grow tired of reading.” - Cassidy Jones, Cape May Magazine and CapeMay.com Blog

"Kate and I have worked together for nearly my entire professional career. We first met as colleagues working at a publishing company in Cape May, and when I left that company to start my own magazine, she was the first person I hired. I think that alone speaks volumes about her.
In the intervening decade and a half, Kate held a variety of positions with my companies, ultimately ending that tenure as a contributor and the managing editor of two magazines and overseeing content development for multiple social media accounts across several platforms.
Her writing speaks for itself, in a clear and identifiable voice. What might not show up in her samples is the fact she can find a way to personally connect with any subject and produce content that utilizes that personal connection to speak directly to the reader.
She has a tireless work ethic and is always on the clock. I do not know anyone who responds to my emails more quickly. She takes pride in all of her work and seems to put a little of herself in everything she does.
Kate has developed an extensive repertoire of skills in a variety of fields, and she can be reliably trusted to execute even long, complicated tasks that require a combination of those skills, with little to no oversight.
Her strong work ethic, reliability, and wide skill set make Kate an ideal candidate for any number of positions, and if my company were still able to retain her services, we would." - Dan Mathers - Owner/Publisher, The WC Press and Taste WC
