Gower Park Place is celebrating 20 years in the community with its annual community fair and yard sale.
About 20 yard sale vendors will be set up in the garden courtyard on Saturday, Aug. 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Children can enjoy a variety of fun activities, including face painting, balloon art and pocket magic. Children are also invited to participate in a huge mural art project in celebration of their 20th anniversary.
The Toonie Tables will be back again this year, offering prizes for $25 gift cards, kids backpacks and even household appliances.
Local community outreach groups are setting up booths and information tables at the fair. Toronto Police Services and Toronto Fire Services will also be present to meet and greet with the public.
Ward 31 Beaches-East York Councillor Janet Davis and Beaches-East York MPP Arthur Potts will be present to celebrate with the community, as well.
Gower Park Place is a non-profit housing community established in 1994. It is located at 10 Gower St., near Victoria Park and St. Clair avenues. The event will be raising funds for their annual Children’s Christmas Party.
