Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for much of southern Ontario, including the City of Toronto.
A western cold front is expected to bring a few lines of thunderstorms for this afternoon and evening.
Environment Canada says these storms can bring up to 50 mm of rainfall in an hour, as well as strong winds and hail.
Emergency Management Ontario recommends that people take cover if threatening weather approaches.
