Meet the Welwitschia mirabilis—the plant Charles Darwin famously called "the ugliest plant in the world" and a prized specimen among collectors. We think Darwin was being just a tad harsh toward this rare plant, especially since it’s one of the longest lived plants in the world!

Plant Lady Tip: This plant has very large tap roots so plant your W. mirabilis in a deep pot or vase, and keep it wetter than a typical succulent!

New to the store!
This weekend, check out our Philodendron spiritus-sancti. This beauty has been coveted and hard to find for many years, but, luckily, it’s becoming more available and affordable due to tissue culture production. The dark, long, and pointed leaves of the P. spiritus-sancti will make a statement in any home or garden. Just give these babies lots of bright, gentle light and let them do their thing!

Hide your vegans! We have tons of carnivorous plants
We’ll have a ton of Sarracenia varieties with us at the event. From the Sarracenia leucophylla ‘UC Davis Old Clone’ pitcher plant, one of the most striking carnivorous plants in the world to the compact and slender Sarracenia rubra ssp. viatorum which is a perfect fit for compact container gardens or bogs.

The Sarracenia minor var. okefenokeensis has extremely tall pitchers that can get up to 2 feet in ideal conditions. But if you’re looking more for something smaller, the Sarracenia psittacina is the way to go. It’s much lower to the ground than the taller varieties, making it an expert at trapping crawling insects. Plus, its pitchers actually look like tiny parrot heads. They’re so cute! 🦜

Restocked your fav Hoyas + got in some new ones
We restocked some of your fav Hoyas, and brought in some new ones to show off, too. We brought back the H. insularis and the H. linearis.

And we brought in some newbies like the H. vitellinoides, H. villosa, and the hard to find (but easy to care for!) H. acuta albomarginata.
