VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA, September 14, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Folio.YVR Luxury Lifestyle Magazine announces the release of Issue 43, led by Holborn’s newly approved Georgia + Abbott development, a 315-metre hotel tower designed by Henriquez Partners Architects under Principal Gregory Henriquez that will stand as the tallest structure in Western Canada. The tower’s diagrid exoskeleton draws from one of British Columbia’s rarest natural formations, and the project introduces 1,783 homes, a year-round public plaza shaped by Indigenous art and cultural programming, and a formal commitment to net-zero operational carbon.

“Georgia + Abbott is not simply a new tower for Vancouver’s skyline,” says Helen Siwak, Editor-in-Chief and Publisher of Folio.YVR. “It is a signal of how this city, and the Lower Mainland around it, intends to build for the next generation. A project of this scale touches housing, culture, sustainability, and public space all at once, and it will shape how this region is seen for decades to come.”

Joo Kim Tiah, Principal at Holborn, describes the thinking behind the project: “This project began with a belief that a site of this significance presented a rare opportunity to contribute to Vancouver in many different ways. We challenged ourselves to respond to the needs the City has identified — housing, social housing, tourism, childcare, public space, Indigenous cultural representation and downtown revitalization and safety — while creating architecture that could become part of Vancouver’s identity. We are incredibly excited about what this project represents and its potential to make a lasting contribution to Vancouver.”

At Oakridge Park, CHANEL has opened its largest boutique in the city to date, a 750-square-metre space designed by Peter Marino and paired with the House’s formal target of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040. Chaumet’s arrival at Oakridge brings the Joséphine collection to Vancouver for the first time, anchored by a tiara maquette wall built as a tribute to Empress Joséphine de Beauharnais and more than two centuries of documented house history.

Also featured is 91 E 40th Avenue, a five-bedroom, 2,744-square-foot home built in 2022 by Simplicity Homes, with architecture by b Squared Architecture Inc. and interiors by deVise Design. Set among the century-old character homes of a heritage Vancouver neighbourhood, the property is offered by the Sid + Jacqueline Real Estate Group of Oakwyn Realty Ltd.

Chan Hon Goh’s appointment as Vice President of the Royal Academy of Dance rounds out the issue’s real estate and appointments coverage, joining RAD President Dame Darcey Bussell in guiding an institution reaching more than eighty-five countries. A former Principal Dancer with the National Ballet of Canada and current General and Artistic Director of Goh Ballet Academy Canada, Goh brings four decades of experience to the role.

Stylist Michelle Addison is profiled following her departure from Holt Renfrew after fifteen years across three of Vancouver’s leading luxury retailers, marking the launch of her independent practice, Michelle Addison Style, spanning personal styling, wardrobe consulting, and creative direction.

Vancouver menswear label Champlain marks its third seasonal release with a fall Estate Collection spanning polos, cardigans, sweaters, and outerwear, now carried in more than seventy retailers across Canada, including Harry Rosen. Founder and Creative Director Jonathan Richard built the collection around British heritage fabrics and a wardrobe suited to both the office and the outdoors.

The issue’s CELEBRATE section spans two Lower Mainland venues: a wedding designed by Liting Chan of Paradise Events Inc. at Swaneset Bay Resort & Country Club, and Granville Island Hotel, recipient of a 2026 Travellers’ Choice Award and a placement on National Geographic’s list of the ten best hotels in Vancouver, whose waterfront setting and ground-floor restaurant, Dockside, serve as a wedding venue in their own right, recognized for an inclusive dining menu and one of the city’s largest waterfront patios.

Feature artist Danny Singer’s work appears on the front cover and throughout the issue. Represented by Gallery Jones, his Main Street Project has spent twenty-five years photographing the full main streets of small prairie towns, each panorama stitched from as many as one hundred and fifty sequential images and held in collections including the National Gallery of Canada and the Vancouver Art Gallery.
