Hey DoSomething members,

This election season is just getting started!

While it appears that we are looking at a 2024 rematch between current President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, candidates that aren’t running for Oval Office but will directly impact your community are also on the line.

State elections are already underway in 46 states for seats like the U.S. House, Senate, School Boards, and more.

Most State Senate and State House of Delegates will be up for election during each state primary, alongside the U.S. State and U.S. House seats. Here’s a breakdown of the upcoming state elections in May. NOTE: voter registration deadlines have unfortunately passed.

May 7 - Indiana
May 14 - Maryland, Nebraska, West Virginia
May 21 - Idaho, Oregon, Georgia, Kentucky

And to the peeps in Iowa, New Jersey, New Mexico, and Maine voter registration deadlines are coming up for the June State primaries - so make sure you stay ahead and get registered early:

New Mexico voter registration deadline: May 7
New Jersey voter registration deadline: May 14
Iowa voter registration deadline: May 20
Maine voter registration deadline: May 21

Select your state here to learn more about early voting dates, view a sample ballot, and update your voter registration if you’ve recently moved.

You can still make your voice heard in your state, and look at the issues that you want these government officials to tackle.

Let's Do This!
