Square Enix announced Final Fantasy XVI for the PS5 during the PlayStation Showcase

Square Enix announced Final Fantasy XVI for the PS5 during Wednesday’s PlayStation 5 Showcase event. t

First of all, what can be seen from the trailer looks amazing enough to be released as soon as the PlayStation 5 launches on November 12th at the robust price of $399.99 (Digital Edition) and $499.99 (Disk Version). But the fact of the matter is, the game isn’t ready yet despite the amazing visuals that led off the PlayStation 5 event.

Speaking of visuals, watch the video that already garnered over 30,000 views in an hour.

During the event, Square Enix revealed that the people behind Final Fantasy XVI, Dragon Quest X and The Last Remnant were collaborating on the standalone mainline Final Fantasy game. Those people happen to be Naoki Yoshida and Hiroshi Takai.

Per the release from Square Enix, Final Fantasy XVI producer Yoshida said about the trailer that there was a mixture of battles and cutscenes that ran in real-time from a handful of core members but the team has grown to a full-fledged unit that continues to polish and build upon what was created.

Final Fantasy XVI for PS5

The game is built as a single-player action-RPG for the PlayStation 5. It is a console exclusive so it won’t be coming to Xbox (at least not for a while anyway). However, it will also be available for PC.

Unfortunately, this is all the news we’ll have for this game for a while. The next information reveal for Final Fantasy XVI won’t be until 2021.
