Another Aylesbury office block to become flats?

Another office block in Aylesbury could become flats with no parking.

Elsinore House, on Buckingham Street, could be demolished and replaced with a shop and 34 flats above.

Plans show only a delivery bay, one disabled and one visitor parking bay, saying the town centre location means parking isn't needed.

The offices haven't been fully occupied for some time and this would follow the trend of many other spaces in Aylesbury being converted into housing, such as Heron House just a few doors down.

Rather than convert the existing building, which has a car park on the ground floor, a new building would be constructed.

That would include shop space on the ground floor, with the flats behind and above.

Some green space would be created to the side facing out towards the Sainsbury's site.

Designs look similar to those seen at The Exchange and with the new shop and flats being built next to Sainsbury's at the moment.

When it comes to parking, the proposals refer to other permissions given for similar projects, where parking wasn't seen as necessary because of having a town centre location.

The only parking would be one disabled parking bay. A visitor's spot and a delivery bay are also provided.

Concerns have already been raised about litter, after an increase in housing without adequate bin provision saw a rise in fly-tipping in the town centre.

Buckinghamshire Council have until early November to make a decision.
