If you haven’t yet attended one of our ever-popular web events there’s a feature on LinkedIn that you may not know about yet. If you implement this it can make a big difference to your profile being found in searches.
You may already be using the Skills section of your profile and you can now have up to five of your key skills visible in your experience section.
That shows where you used those skills most and they will also work as keywords to help your profile’s SEO performance.
It’s easy to do. Just open up your profile page using the ‘View profile’ option that gives you editing access:
- Scroll down to the Skills section
- Click on the + sign to add a skill
- Type in the one you want to use
- Select the section of your profile where you want it to show
- Click Save and you’re done
- Repeat for up to 5 key skills
Best practice tip - if you are already using Creator Mode we strongly suggest you use the hashtags you’ve selected to show just below your headline. There may be some specific exceptions to this but those hashtags are the smart choice for most people.
