Sometimes you might want to add content to your Authory account that’s not online anywhere. For that we’ve created the option to add upload PDF files to your Authory account, or to copy&paste from a file.
1. Upload PDFs
In order to upload a PDF from your device, go to your Content section and select “Add content”.

Next click “Upload PDF”. You’ll see a prompt giving you the option to select a PDF file from your device.

After the uploading, you can customize the headline, preview text and date that the PDF will have in your Authory account.
Also, you can choose whether the PDF should be added to an existing source in your Authory account, or whether it’s from a source that’s not in your Authory account yet and therefore a new source should be created.

2. Copy&paste
If you have a local file on your computer where you can copy&paste the text and/or images from, then go to your Content section, click the “Add content” button and then select “Write on Authory”:

You’ll see an area for the headline, and an area where you can paste the body of your article.

Whenever you want to add images, then simply create a new paragraph and click the icon that’s appearing on the left:

You can also change the stylizing of your text (font size, text decoration etc). Simply select the respective text bit and an edit bar will appear:

Once you’ve copied and pasted your text, you can set the published date and decide whether it should be added to an existing source in your Authory account, or whether it’s from a source that’s not in your Authory account yet and therefore a new source should be created.

When you are done with the settings, then you can add the piece to your Authory account by clicking the button “Publish article”.
Instead of copy&pasting texts, you can also use Authory’s editor to write and publish entire articles. Here is a tutorial.
