How to add single or multiple content items manually

Authory can automatically import your articles, videos and podcasts (learn more here). However, if you already have the URLs of one or more content items, you can add them manually as well.

Tip: With the Authory Browser Extension, you can save any content you open in your browser straight to your portfolio, it takes a single click only.

Good to know: Importing content automatically works by Authory finding articles with your byline. However, when importing content manually, it doesn't matter if the articles have your byline or someone else's, or none at all (so this is great for importing ghostwritten or brande content, too).

Whenever you import content, you can decide whether you want to import it and add it to a collection immediately or whether you only want to import it and decide to which collections to add it to later.

1. Importing and adding to collection immediately

Go to the collection you want to add the content item to (either by selecting the collection on your portfolio at authory.com/app/portfolio or by going to your collection overview at authory.com/app/collections and selecting a collection there). Then click the "Add content" button:

Next, select "Import or upload new content" and then choose the content type you'd like to add. For the content types article, videos and pdcasts you can select the automagic option or manual option. For all others, you only have the manual option. Simply copy & paste the links to the content items you want to import, and they'll be added immediately.

Good to know

Even if you import content directly to a collection, it will also be imported to your Content Archive automatically.

2. Importing only

If you go to your Content Archive at authory.com/app/content and click the "Add content" button there, you can import content without adding it to a collection immediately. The process is otherwise same as described above.
