How to edit the social media preview and search engine preview of your portfolio

When you post a link to your portfolio on social media, the respective social network will automatically display a preview of the link, usually consisting of a title and an image. Here is a link preview example from X/Twitter:

Also, when Google indexes your portfolio (which will automatically happen with your Authory portfolio), it will display the title and a description. Example:

By default, Authory will create a collage of the images of your most recent three content items and show that as the preview picture for social media. However, you can change that anytime. You can also change the title and description that will be displayed, both on social networks and on Google.

Here is how:

Go to your portfolio section and click "Settings" in the top bar:

Select "SEO & Social Media" from the menu that opens. In the screen that follows you'll be able to customize both image and text:

Good to know

  • You can also customize the preview image and text for standalone collections that you share, and even for content items that you share.

  • The way to do that is the same as for your portfolio. Go to the collections and content item details page respectively, and select the "Settings" menu in the top bar, then click "SEO & Social Media".
