How to see the backed up version of a content item

Learn how to get to your content backups

When you import articles that are published elsewhere, Authory will automatically create a backup of the original piece. Not a PDF or a screenshot, but a real text backup with all images. The major advantage is twofold:

  1. Authory does this at scale, and fully automatically. For some users, we've backed up more than 15,000 articles.

  2. You can search and filter your backups via your Content Archive. That's a lot better than having a folder with dozens or hundreds of PDFs that you can't even search.

You can access the backed up version of an article either by clicking on the item on your portfolio or in a collection and selecting "View article details" from the menu that opens:

Alternatively, you can also go to your Content Archive. Clicking any article there will directly forward you to the article details view.
