Authory gives you flexible sharing options for:

  • Your entire portfolio

  • Individual collections

  • Single work samples

Whether you want to go fully public, stay private, or share something with a password or secret link, here’s how it works.

Sharing Your Portfolio

Step 1: Open Your Portfolio Settings

  1. Go to your Portfolio Editor

  2. Once your portfolio editor loads, click the Share button (top right)

Portfolio Sharing Options

When you click Share, you’ll see four options:

1. Private (Default)

Your portfolio is private by default. Only you can see it while logged into your account.

2. Public

Switching to Public makes your portfolio accessible to anyone via a URL like:

authory.com/your-name

You can:

  • Edit the URL slug

  • Share it with anyone

  • Allow search engines to index it

Connect Your Own Domain Instead of using an authory.com URL, you can connect your own domain. This allows you to: Use a fully branded URL Maintain consistency with your personal website (Authory provides a tutorial for domain setup inside the dashboard.)

3. Password Protect

You can make your portfolio publicly accessible, but require a password to view it.

Visitors need to enter the password once and can then browse your entire portfolio freely.

Important:

  • Password-protected portfolios are not indexed by search engines.

4. Secret Link

The Secret Link option creates:

  • A unique, unguessable URL

  • Not indexed by search engines

  • Fully private unless someone has the link

This is ideal for:

  • Confidential job applications

  • Private client sharing

  • Controlled access

You can still edit the link slug to make it cleaner, while keeping it unindexed.

Sharing a Collection (Standalone Mini Portfolio)

Collections can appear:

  • As tabs on your main portfolio

  • Or as standalone mini portfolios

To share a collection standalone:

  1. Open the collection

  2. Click the Share button (top right)

You can:

  • Generate a standalone share link

  • Password protect it

  • Edit the link slug

  • Choose whether the collection should appear on your public portfolio

This is especially useful when:

  • Applying for a job

  • Sending curated work samples

  • Sharing niche expertise privately

The collection link works independently from your main portfolio.

Sharing an Individual Work Sample

You can also share a single piece of content directly.

Step-by-step:

  1. Go to your Content Archive

  2. Open a work sample

  3. Click the Share button

  4. Generate a share link

  5. (Optional) Edit the URL slug

What gets shared:

  • The Authory backup version of the content

  • Cleanly formatted

  • Fully branded

This is ideal for sending one specific work sample (e.g. article).
