Our automated system is designed to accurately find and import all of your articles with your byline from various publications. However, in some cases, you might notice that we imported fewer articles than expected. Here’s why this can happen and what you can do to ensure all your work is imported successfully.
Why did this happen?
Authory's system works well with the majority of publications, automatically detecting and importing articles based on your byline. However, there are a few scenarios where it may not pick up all of your work:
Complex website structures: Some websites have unique layouts or structures that make it difficult for our system to automatically locate your articles.
Multiple byline variations: If your work appears under different variations of your name (e.g., with or without a middle initial), our system might not identify all of your articles.
Paywalls or restricted access: In some cases, content that is behind a paywall or otherwise restricted can prevent our system from accessing the articles.
Recent website changes: If a publication recently changed its website structure, it may affect the ability to find and import your articles.
Don’t worry, we’re here to help!
If you think our system missed some articles, we can usually fix it. Just follow these steps:
Reach out to us directly
Send us an email at hello@authory.com and let us know about the missing articles. Providing details like the publication name or a link to one of the missing articles will help us resolve the issue more quickly. We’ll do another check
Once we receive your email, we will make adjustments to the system and initiate another crawl of the website to find the missing content.Get notified when it’s done
We’ll notify you via email once we’ve re-crawled the website and imported any additional articles we found. You can then review your account to ensure everything is as expected.
Provide different bylines: If you’ve written under different bylines, add them to your account settings at authory.com/app/settings/account.
