Hi, my name is Protim. Friends, family, and colleagues sometimes call me “Pro.”
I've had the opportunity to do a bunch of things work-wise. I am a fractional CMO, content marketing & SEO specialist, startup founder, and advisor. I have nearly a decade and a half of experience in marketing and startups.
That said, I am probably more obsessed with Dungeons & Dragons, dogs, and music — more on that later! Let's get the boring stuff out of the way first.
All work and no play makes me dull
Current work pursuits
At Authory, I lead all content marketing efforts as the Director of Content Marketing. I am also the Chief Marketing Officer at FoodBridge.io, a Norway-based B2B food supply chain SaaS startup.
As the founder of Prose Advisory, I take up advisory and fractional CMO gigs. Right now, I'm involved in three companies: ZeroK, a B2D startup in the observability space; Cranberry, a social entrepreneurship venture focused on helping women's health in India; and Factors, a SaaS marketing analytics tool.
I'm also trying to set up an online publishing outfit called Prosody Publishing — nothing too extravagant, just a solo endeavor.
Past work experience
In the recent past, I led content and SEO efforts at 100ms, a Series A B2D video tech startup, and Hasura, a Series C B2D API tech startup. At Hasura, I also oversaw their digital ad strategy and execution.
But before all that, and far more importantly, I ran a branding, advertising, and digital marketing agency for over seven years. We served over a hundred clients during that time — from nameless bootstrapped startups to large MNCs like ITC, Wipro, Ford, and Vodafone. I had the privilege of working on nearly all aspects of marketing, including website building, video creation, design, and more.
Music
Now for the less mundane.
I began my career as a musician: singing, playing guitar, composing music for jingles, performing with bands, and teaching Cambridge A-Level music. Eventually, I had to move onto more serious things — the starving artist life was getting dangerous — but lately, I've been getting back into music. I'm learning the bass!
Other interests that make me, me
Dungeons & Dragons
I've been super into D&D for a long time. So much so that I've finally started writing and creating my own campaign setting. The worldbuilding is a lot of fun — my world is situated on a moon! Of course, there are monsters and magic and whatnot. But the moon!
Family, friends & found family
In my free time, when I function as an actual IRL person, I spend my hours with family and friends. I try to be the fun uncle (funcle?) to all the nieces and nephews I've had the pleasure to squeeze. When they're older, I'll teach them guitar and D&D. For now, we play make-believe with each other and the dogs.
Dogs
The family has many dogs: Bertie, Hobbes, Casper, Milu, Huxley, Gunner, Jazz, Zara, Zorro, Zoya, Zyra, and Zeus. Zeus just passed away recently, and we miss him loads. Casper had to be re-homed some time ago. And we miss him as well. But the rest are here and bring untold joy to all of us.
The one not-dog is Bubblin, a badass cat who hunts down snakes (and ignores me).
